South African Estate agents responsibility under the new consumer protection act

An extract taken from a lessor website written by Grant Gunston addresses the CPA and the new responsibility it places on estate agents and the seller in insuring disclosure of all material facts pertaining to the sale ( including a synopsis of the property condition) is carefully presented to the buyers.

This is well written and easy to understand interpretation of the responsibilities of the agent under the CPA.

There are any that think this act still need to be tested in court. Do you want to be the agent or seller that goes into the law books as a windfall case . HomeSafe Property Inspection ensures disclosure by providing all the material facts pertaining to the property condition.

This will provide clarity , remove the risk of non disclosure and provide a smoother path for the deal process to succeed and remain in place.

www.homesafeinspection.co.za will provide you all the detail you need. Dowload a sample report and assess the inspection report and how useful it can be to the deal process. Starting at just R1500 and averaging R10 per square meter inspected , this represents less than 0.2 % of an average deal value and is a small price to pay to be sure your client relationships remain sound and professional long term.
